I have tried to use 3 different 100 MHz 10x probes and 2 25 MHz 10x probes my dso112a. None of them can be tuned enough to compensate. Even using the built in square wave generator at 1KHz they are all under compensated. I have also tried 2 diffrent adapters that goes from bnc to mcx without any results. Any suggestions on what I need to do to remedy the problem?
Thanks,
Steve
10x probe setup
Re: 10x probe setup
Do you have the newer model "Coral" (DSO112A) or the older one?
Re: 10x probe setup
Yes, it is the dso112a. I just bought it last week on Amazon.
Re: 10x probe setup
Is there some way to adjust it on the dso112a?
Re: 10x probe setup
Please see the attached photo. There are two cap trimmer can be adjusted for probe calibration. Adjust C64 for sensitivity between 5mV/div - 0.2V/div and C24 for 0.5V/div - 20V/div. Probe should be set to 1X when tuning the caps.
Re: 10x probe setup
I'm trying to follow this advice, but I'm a bit stuck. Things look fine at 1X, but 10X is clearly under compensated. Does it need to be adjusted at 10X after adjusting for 1X, should I just adjust it at 10X, or am I missing something?
Re: 10x probe setup
The compensation for 10X should be done by the trimmer at the probe handle or its BNC connector. The trimmers at scope should only take care of 1X compensation.
