Smaller frequency steps wanted.

Post by pzachary »

I'd like to be able to use frequency steps smaller than 1Hz, say .1Hz. I realize settings this fine will exceed the maximum error of the clock.
(based on my measurements of one sample unit 60hz runs from about 59.5 to 60.25, where 30hz runs from about 29.6 to 29.9).
I have some applications very close to 60Hz, could I re-map the device for better resolution at these slow speeds somehow? Perhaps re-clocking the whole device or a frequency divider going to the DDS core?

thanks,

Yes this can be done. Just lowering the DDS clock will increase frequency resolution. But modifying the operation interface will take some time. We are pretty busy currently. We will do it later if you are not in rush.
