Battery Connector

Hello JYE-Team,

we use the DSO094 built-in into the front panel of our laboratory function generator.
Since the DSO is charged only via USB ( that's how I understand the documentation) we want to connect our power supply directly to the DSO without the battery.
Unfortunately I cannot find the cable connector type.
Can you help me?

What is the voltage of the power supply to be used? If it is 5V it can be directly connected to the test point VBUS (at the side of the USB connector) and GND.

Hello jye1,

I had extra added an adjustable voltage regulator on our board fed by our 5V-supply and adjusted it to 3,7V. This should replace the battery.
As I understand you, the 5V can be connected to VBUS.
May I also connect the 5V to the battery connector? If yes, I will cut the battery cable, use the connector and feed the 5V directly via the white connector.

By datasheets directly connecting 5V to the battery connector shouldn't damage anything. You can also add a diode in series between +5V and the connector. This will lower the voltage by about 1V and is safer. Any regular rectifier diode with 1A capacity would be good.

Hello,

there still remains one problem.
Usually the battery is charged via USB. Now there is no passive battery but our active 5V minus one diode voltage.
I hope the USB-Charging-Unit will not resent this new configuration.

The BAT terminal can withstand up to 7V so a 5V connected to it should not damage the chip.
