Turning the battery power off

Post by mgraphic »

Hi,
I have purchased and constructed the DSO 138mini Oscilloscope DIY Kit.
and fitted the mini 118 BATTERY CHARGER WITH SWITCH CARD.BOB1 PN:109-11802-00A

Then plugged in a USB power plug. The oscilloscope powered up and worked fine.
and displayed a nice square wave on the screen.

Then I removed the USB plug and Plugged in a new 3.7v Battery into the
battery socket and again the unit worked fine.

Problem.is I cannot turn the oscilloscope off with either the USB plug or the battery installed. Cannot leave
the battery on forever!
No ON/OFF switch is fitted.

The MODE switch SW4 sets the battery charge mode I think. Does not turn off battery or USB power?

If the scope runs on battery power, how do we turn off the battery power when the scope is not in use?

If the turn off is a "sleep mode" button command which is a button combination,
What is the button combination to put the processor in sleep mode?

Can find nothing on this.
The main processor is a STM32F103C8 chip which seems to be fairly common, cannot find a list of commands.

Any thoughts!

Did you have all jumpers on the back side of analog PCB open? If you did SW4 should turn scope off when battery is used.

Thank you for your reply,

Jumpers JP4, JP5 and JP6 on the back of the board are all open.
SW4 the mode switch does not work on my scope with a 3.7v
battery installed. No USB cable fitted.
The blue light is on in both switch positions
The screen does dim a little with the switch in the top position.
There is no light on the 118 battery charger board.

So don't know!

The scope is working fine with all the controls working.
But cannot switch the scope off!

I think that it must be one of the jumpers that need closing or a solder joint or a design error.

regards

Hi,
Have tried several times to upload some photos but with no success.
There is a 3 mb total limit and this Forum does not accept photos in Jpeg format ?

What format does it accept. Your Faq section is not much help.

Hi,

I have the same problem. When the problem arrive, you must disconnect the battery and reconnect. After this, S4 became functional. I have removed this charger. It's impossible to charge the battery without to have the screen On.
