Cut LCD cable

I received the DSO Shell (p/n 109-15000-00E2) as a Christmas present, but during the first test the screen lit up white without any text. The LED blinks slowly three times and then flashes quickly.

On inspection and after searching this forum, I noticed that the ribbon cable connecting the LCD screen has a cut in it (visible in the picture in the attachment).
It is impossible for me to fix the cable, so I think I will have to replace the screen.

Should the person who gave it to me contact the seller for a solution or can I contact JYE Tech somehow?
