I bought a DSO Shell from Ebay, sadly when I powered the unit on for the first time (before soldering any parts to it), the display was mainly white with two big black areas:
The unit boots up, one can briefly see the boot screen and then the main interface is display, however it is pretty much unusable at this stage. I contacted the vendor and they won't take the unit back since they claim shipping to China is too expensive and their German warehouse (where I got the unit from) won't take any return packages. Instead they said I should order a replacement screen and they will refund me the money to pay for a new screen.
What do you think about that? Can one buy just the display on ebay / aliexpress and is it a good idea?
