I received my device before yesterday and after assembling it worked just fine.
After connecting battery pack device boots and displays the error message.
Battery outputs 9v and is regulated by 7809 regulator.
All the symptoms I explain in details in the video linked below

Will upgrade do the trick or should I search for other solutions?

Just formality - The number on a PCB sticker is 'Wtcy7Cb5'

I haven't followed this issue, but there are two other threads here that deal with it. Those might give you a solution.

Re: "reading eeprom failed" when connecting li-ion battery p
First, a 7809 requires at least 3 Volt higher input voltage
Second, two capacitors are needed, one at the input of ~ 330nF and the output ~ 100nF (see specs 7809)
The 7809 will oscillate if the capacitors are not present

Lesson learned, appreciate. Now any suggestions as to what could happened?RobNL wrote:First, a 7809 requires at least 3 Volt higher input voltage

If you are lucky you blowup the 7809, he will be very fast hot, BENG 7809
If it goes really wrong, the ~12 Volt input will be also a 12 Volt output.....BENG shell

Re: "reading eeprom failed" when connecting li-ion battery p
forget the 7809, still works just fine, stable 9v all the way(there is a cap on the output, just enough for testing). Now I use only 9v batery.
I mean what could possibly go wrong with the DSO because of unstable 9v?
I don't understand that "read eeprom failed". Is eeprom embeded within STM32 or is it a separate device.
It cannot read because the eeprom is damaged or because part of firmware responsible for reading got corrupted.
Too many questions and it seams no one ever got exactly same failure mode.

I updated firmware, error message is gone but more problems comes along - continuing on a new thread:
