Could someone please confirm the maximum signal level for a Shell oscilloscope? Most sources including the marking on the scope itself state 50v pk, but one or two state 50v pp (a significantly different number!). I've just blown up my analog board by measuring the output of a mains transformer. A meter showed this as 17.4v RMS (so 24.6v peak, 49.2v pp). The scope gave a sad little "pop" and stopped seeing input signals. Luckily it was just a blown track on the analog board - soon bridged with a strand of wire, but I was wondering if I was just unlucky or if I was too close to a 50v peak-to-peak limit.
