Rotary encoder on wrong side of PCB

Post by aldo »

From the FAQ, it seems I've soldered the rotary encoder on the wrong side of the PCB. Values always increase and I've to boot again the DSO Shell to start from low values. I've just checked the documentation that is available on the DSO Shell product page http://www.jyetech.com/Products/LcdScop ... _Shell.pdf and the printed two pages that I've received are different. They are missing a few hints link "Note: please pay attention to the orientation of the PCB. Use the side with outline marking." for instance. I've a version 50 firmware version and I suppose there's new versions of the documentation.

May I suggest you post a picture of the small PCB with the encoder next to the FAQ items about this problem. I think others would benefit not guessing which side is the correct one...

When I solve this one, then I'll look why the T.S Amp is continuously cycling from 0.1 V to 3.3 V. That's another story...
