Stay away from FTDI offers from ebay.

They all use fake chips which are useless and you are just throwing out money.
The original chip is very well known and praised. Having a good reputation also makes it expensive and a prey for fakers and scammers. The chip alone often costs more in bulk than the whole thing that you bought on ebay.

Get a CP210x . It will solve your issue most likely.

I did ordered CP2103.

Jumper was put to 3.3V and LEDs they are blinking unfortunetly I cannot test it with any other UART device at the moment. I will test it with another UART at USB to make a loopback.

The one that didn't work was removed from ebay.

just arrived and i tested with loader it shows as com 3 i will try firmware upgrade this weekend

i guess i must have a good luck i upgraded from 054 to the new 055 with out any trouble at all. sorry if you had problems my $2.37 investment worked great
