Hi I just finished assembling my DSO 138 bought from Gearbest. It does not have a sticker on the board so I think it is counterfeit. My unit works so far but I can't get a good rectangle waveform. C6 doesn't seem to work at all when tuned. Where it called for 1.8M resistor kit has 2.0M. I found out why. 1.8M resistors are not readily available in large selection economy kits . I had to order the 1.8M from DigiKey. I also have problems with setting Zero V, I make the adjustment but in does not hold I have to keep recalibrating it. Being a novice, this OK as I have learned allot ( like check for counterfeit before I buy) and will order a real one from legitimate seller. Maybe with a good one I can make this one work better. I reported to Gearbest for a refund but I won't hold my breath.
Thanks JYETech for making this kit at an affordable price and your customer support your an A1 company in my view. Is it still possible to change the firmware to 050 with a counterfeit?

I purchased a kit in June 2015. It was apparently fake as well. It is still listed: http://www.ebay.com/itm/291337112783. Ebay seller: tianlo_go.

They don't mention Jyetech nor DSO138 anywhere in the description.

Defects:
  1. L2 was supplied as a 0.1mH
  2. R38 was marked twice on the PCB
Other fake identifiers:
  1. pin 19 ID on the LCD panel being close to the line
  2. no documentation with the kit
  3. C2 was supplied with a 220pf rather than a 330pf

Hello! I bought a set. And I think it's a fake.
Can you confirm that it is a fake?
I had already gathered, and you can see how it looks. The seller does not want to return the money.
Bought at aliexpress seller "thanks-youbuy"(http://ru.aliexpress.com/store/1824399). Add him to the blacklist.

I'd like to report this european eBay seller http://www.ebay.it/usr/profit_vanity which is selling the SainSmart counterfit (item # 221865166149).
I initially bought it believing it was simply another implementation of a freely available design, however once I read on your website that it was a counterfit I asked the seller to cancel the purchase and I got a refund.
To be honest it was a bit of a struggle, not because the counterfit version was cheaper (it was actually a bit more expensive) but because the black pcb looks SO MUCH BETTER then the original red. I understand it's a personal taste, but that red is really an eye sore :(
In the end however I bought one that hopefully it's genuine from another seller (http://www.ebay.it/itm/201458385426), I haven't got it yet so I can't say for sure.
