I've never had an oscilloscope before. I got a DSO138 'cus I was bored at home recovering from surgery.
Now it's built and working, and in a plastic box, I have set about learning how to use it.
Most is self-explanatory but I've no idea what the duty cycle and PWM setting do.
I understand that duty cycle is the percentage of "on" time per given period - but why have an adjustment for it? Doesn't the scope measure this?
PWM/Frequency - what am I changing when I adjust this? why would I want or need to change this?
No amount of googling or youtube has given me a satisfactory answer - most youtube on these just says "this button changes this" - I'd got that far myself, I want the deep dive behind what's going on.
