Maximum input voltage

Post by nonamenoob »

Good day.
From manual, maximum input voltage is 50 Vpk. Why ?
Maybe i missed something, but max. voltage of STM CPU is 5V.
So question is: I need measure 24 DC voltage, do I need 1:10 probe, or 1:1 is good ?
Thanks for explanation.

The maximum input voltage of the amplifier IC is + or - 5volts.
However JYE Tech claims the 100K R1 resistor in series on the 10 mV scale protects it up to 50 volts.
In the 0.1 volt range the voltage to the IC is divided by 10 so max voltage is at least 50, more if you consider the series resistance in the circuit.
In the 1 volt range the voltage is divided by 100 but the breakdown voltage of the divider resistor is probably about 200 volts.

To answer your question directly 24 volts will not be a problem with a 1:1 probe, just keep off the 10mV range to be sure.
