Had a shorted MCU that I replaced today. Can I just follow the normal routine for flashing the new MCU now that it is soldered to the scope's PCB?

Got to the flash screen then the CPU shorted again.....

Did you check voltages of the board?

Yes, 5v and 3.3 was perfect. As soon as flash was sent the MCU shorted. Installed second MCU and it shorted instantly Any ideas post MCU circuitry what might be causing this?

I know it's a long time since the last upodate, but did you manage to figure this out?
I have the same issue with shorted MCU (the scope was recieved like that) and I am wondering if it makes any sence to replace the chip and flash it. but from your post seems it is not possible..
any hints?
