Strange voltage offset

Post by studude »

Hi,

I built my board a few days ago and things were working perfectly. I noticed today that when I am on the 1 V sensitivity the readout tells me wildly inaccurate values (like 15 Vpp when the other settings say 1.5 Vpp and 1500 mVpp). When I ground the coupler, set the signal to 0, and then attempt to autotrigger (to set the trigger to 0) it sends it to -30 or -40V. Clearly something is wrong. On the other sensitivities I also have trouble triggering. If the trigger happens to be below a signal, as I manually increase the trigger, the signal will sometimes float below the trigger as the trigger passes on its way up the screen. This happens on AC and DC coupling. I've used the manual's voltage references and everything looks ok. It boots up fine every time. Does anyone have an idea for how to debug? Maybe I have a busted capacitor somewhere. I tried to retouch all the solder connections in case I had a cold joint but it didn't help.

Thanks for any help!
