yay, new fw!

Post by headsmess »

bought a dso112 a while back, obviously...

handy lil thing though not really rated for what im doing, working on tube guitar amps.

just figured out how to flash the FW, that takes some doing...just be patient and persistent ;)

i now find it has frequency meter, very handy, rather than the previous system. adjusting sliders...though they have their positive side to, like measuring times between transients... could we implement both systems?

but im finding its in accurate unless the screen is set to certain time units?

say i test signal 1khz, its fine at some time divisions, whereas at others it gives me a skewball reading, like 12k or 52hz or similar.

same applies for other time divisions/frequencies. 1mhz test gives me 250khz...

doesnt seem to acknowledge anything under 100hz reliably at all.

could just be the square wave test signal...

not really an issue but. very handy feature. when set correctly :)

it also doesnt turn on(the freq meter app), neither does the voltage meter, unless i enter menu and click "default" first.

ah ha. i knew there was an issue when i first fiddled around with this new FirmWare...

time divisions.

1us displays " 0 112 "
2us displays " some weird character/undefined"
5us displays " 2-XXX "

10 us displays " TS11202-XX "

i put in a 100khz test signal, and all these divisions are off.

1us waveform is very similar to 5ms waveform.
2us looks just like 10ms
5us appears very similar to 20ms.
10us, just to confirm, shows the same as 50ms.
20us and 0.1s

and now im getting seriously confused because with a 10khz signal, at 1s/div, im reading about 3hz....

and to turn fmeter on, yup had to hit default first.

i preferred the previous firmware now :( this one has bugs.

have now with no success. full of bugs.

very interesting waveform produced when 100khz is fed in via test and set at 1s/div.

can count it...about 0.3hz....

am going to reflash to previous version as its now unuseable.

Can you check the touch controller version? It is displayed as "TS11202-XXX" at powering up.
