Input protection

The device has quite limited protection max 50V pp.
Unfortunately this does not say anything about neg pulses.
Then
it is quite risky to use it in a car environment.
Here we have noise pulses of +-200V (10 to 500µs)and more on top of the 12V line.
Is there a chance to add any kind of suppression device(R,L,C Schottky etc components)?
This should be placed inside the box.
The developers should drop their eyes a little bit more on the rough environment.
Standard oscilloscope here have a protection of around +-500V pp
