Frozen!

Post by bevangg »

The unit worked fine for several months after construction but now is faulty.
It appears to boot up ok but then the display is frozen. The backlight can be toggled and the rotary encoder will switch it on or off but nothing else works.
Any ideas?
I have already flashed the latest firmware.

Please follow the link to my youtube video. At 12 seconds you will see the frozen screen.
It is stuck on fft mode.
That was the last mode I used it for.
Unit does not respond to anything but power on, power off and display light toggle.

pf6 to ground2.jpg
Solved!

I received this reply from Zemin at JYE:

"Hi, please try the following to perform forced factory default restore.

1 ) Connect the pad PF6 at J7 to GND.
2 ) Power up the device until you see normal scope panel.
3 ) Remove the connection made in 1 )."

This worked and the oscilloscope is now functioning normally.

The unit still freezes when you try to use fft mode, also it randomly freezes completely now in a state where it will not even turn off and the backlight switch does not work.
Somebody has replied to my post on youtube saying that they have the same issue and it is a firmware problem.
