DS068 powered through J2

Post by Jonathan »

I have a working scope powered through USB and not keen on an internal battery because I will never remember to charge it.

Therefore, I would like to externally power with a mains adapter through J2 and read somewhere this should be 9-10V; is that correct?

Are these the correct steps:

1. BOB2 not installed.
2. Insert D5 (general purpose rectifier diode?)
3. JP5 and JP3 open
4. JP1 closed

Does BOB3 have to be installed with JP2 open or can it be used with no BOB3 and JP2 closed ?

Is it correct that BOB4 must be used?

Any assistance appreciated.

I am using mine with a 5Vdc ext power supply connected to J2. I did need to install D5.

I do not know what the Max input voltage could be.

With 5Vdc input to J2, I do read 4Vdc at J1 (int battery plug).

After all that I shorted J4 and all works except turn off function.

Cant get a answer on my questions....

Good luck

If you do not use internal battery then remove BOB2 and close JP1. Install D5 (1N400X). Use 5V (max. 6V) power supply at J2.
