No Power On with BOB3 installed

Everything seems fine with oscilloscope kit assembled. The oscilloscope starts with internal battery and USB while JP2 is closed.

If JP2 open, I cannot power it (click on Adjust rotary button) on with BOB3 installed or not.

I can start it with a momentary short on JP2 and afterwards, pressing ADJ button for a few seconds the oscilloscope powers off, as it should, but then again, it doesn't power on. Here is a video of the issue.

I suspect a defective BOB3. I bought it new from eBay, but the seller cannot provide any technical support. Could you please help me?
