ADJ button powers on, but no menu and no power off

Post by jbernardis »

I just finished building my oscilloscope tonight, but am experiencing the following issues.

First, even though I can power the unit via USB or via internal battery, using an external 5VDC adaptor via the barrel connector does not work at all - unit is completely dead even though I verify the polarity and voltage of the adaptor.

But that's not the biggest issue. The main issue I am having is that the ADJ button will power the unit ON, but it will not power it off nor will it bring up the menu. When I press the adj button after the unit is running, nothing happens at all. I'm not sure where to test.

Any help would be appreciated.

For the not-powering off problem please check D3 for possible open or reversed.

If J2 is used for external 5V power input diode D5 is required. D5 is not include in the kit so you need find one yourself. Any general rectifier diode should be fine.
