DSO068 assembly problem

Post by Gene »

How do you get support for DSO068 scope kit? PCB pad lifted off board when trying to attach BOB4 board to PCB. What do I do now?

Can you please post photos showing how the pads were damaged? If one or two pads were lifted usually you can try to mound the BOB on the rest pads and then connect the damaged pads with wires.

The PCB pad that lifted was pin 1 for the BOB4 board. Were would the jumper be connected?

Pin 1 of BOB4 was not used so you can leave pin1. Just connect the rest three pins.

Poraďte mi ako naprogramovať nové atmegy v DS0 068 v akom poradí mám programovať jednotlivé programy. Po naprogramovaní mi nefunguje ovládanie. Programujem pomocou eXtreme Burner. S pozdravom.Holubčík

Usually you should program M64 first since M64 provides clock for M48. But for new M48 chips clock source is set to internal so external clock is not required. Please note that the M48 firmware of DSO068 requires its clock source be set external (by changing fuse setting). As a result, once this has been done you won't be able to program the chip again without external clock at its Pin 7.

For M64 you can program the bootloader first and then use bootloader to flash the main firmware (via USB). Some programmer supports programing two (or more) hex files at one time but eXtreme Burner looks not the case. You have to do the bootloader first and use bootlader to load main firmware. You can also go without the bootloader. In this case you need to program the LSB bit (bit 0) of fuse high byte to "1" (this make the chip boots to main firmware address at reset instead of to the bootloader address).

For new chips you need to program the fuse settings. Please refer to User Manual for correct fuse settings. Usually this can be done after firmware has been programmed.
