Alternate way of upgrading firmware on DSO138

Post by tannenba »

I originally put this in the DSO138 Forum, but this is a suggestion, so here it is: :D

Hey, I got a big kick out of building this little kit and playing with it. I bought the little serial converter to upgrade the firmware and successfully upgraded it. Neat! This got me interested in the "blue pill" for Arduino. This version of the STM32F103C8T6 is the same as the DSO138. Found the easiest way to program the "Blue Pill" was with a ST-Link V2 device. I then noticed the DS)138 also has a port for the ST-Link. Used the ST-Link Utility and without shorting any jumpers, downgraded the firmware to 60. Worked fast and great. Upgraded back to 61 and now again, it is at the latest at this time.

Seems to me this would be the easiest way to program this.

BTW..What is the USB on the DSO138 used for? The computer doesn't recognize it. Could this port be used with the JYE Lab :?:
