Re: Li-ion power mod

... BTW, I didn't have to reduce the length of encoder shaft at all, I am not sure why MorganFlint had to do that... Very good implementation! I had to do it because I wasn't able to push the knob as close to the box as I wanted, but it might be because the fit was too tight and/or I didn't push ha...

Re: Replacement R26 - R27 by regulator

... I understand this can be done disconnecting R28 ( old version schematic ) from V+ and connecting it to AV+, once R26 and R27 have been changed for 78L05 and 79L05, respectively. This may be tricky because R28 is SMD, but it makes sense as it avoids possible noise in V+ from getting into ADCIN t...

Re: How to verify the genuineness of your DSO Shell kit

Hello, Jye. I saw your post after I received the first document (Statement against fake authorization) via e-mail, and passed it to Aliexpress, so I couldn't submit the second one. Anyway, they finally closed the dispute without apparently having even read it. The verdict was as follows: "DSO S...

Re: Buying a DSO Shell, questions regarding internal battery

I'm attaching a picture of the "battery bay" size: http://i.imgur.com/88YJsRJl.jpg?1 As you can see, a maximum of 60x42 could fit, but I would leave some margins... As for the maximum thickness, without the encoder mods described here and here , it would be not more than 4-4.5 mm (maybe 5m...

Re: How to verify the genuineness of your DSO Shell kit

It is suggested to request full refund from the seller. If you need any official confirmation of the fake product please contact JYE Tech at jyetech@163.com. Please send photos of the board and power-up screens. Hello, jye1, I've had this problem and, following your advice, I have asked for a full ...

Re: Li-ion power mod

Hello, I modded a second DSO150 with some lessons learned from the first one, so I'll post some photos of the differences with the first one. First: separation of SW5 sections, so one of them can be used afterwards to switch the battery: http://i.imgur.com/6KaAVifl.jpg Second: Encoder mod. Instead o...

Re: Buying a DSO Shell, questions regarding internal battery

The module includes charge + protection + boost, and the battery is protected, so it's better either to combine the module you say (BTW this is the same one, if you want to buy just 1 piece) with an unprotected battery , or use a charge + boost without protection ( this is the one I used ) with the ...

Re: Buying a DSO Shell, questions regarding internal battery

See here for some alternatives to install an internal battery. The module you posted is a boost converter, you would need a charging module also. The battery you posted is a protected one (good) but is 51*42*5 mm (L*W*H), L and H would fit but W is on the limit (I measure 40-41 mm), maybe filing som...

Re: Scope switches to GND when touching the case -> J3

Just in case anyone has the same problem: To prevent J3 from touching the digital board, I put some kapton tape on it in the zone where it could make contact (any plastic isolating tape would do the job).

Re: Replacement R26 - R27 by regulator

I read about a similar mod in the German Elektor magazine. They didnt change the capacitors but instead set the Z-diode to 5V. Any reason why the GND of the voltage regulators is not set to GND? The AGND would be just there on the board Do you mean this review ? ( English version ) In this case, wh...
