Can you post photos of the board (both sides) please? Connection is the major cause for this issue. Please also check the solder joints at the pre-soldered MCU.

You can use a Uart-USB converter to upgrade firmware. No special programmer required. Please see https://jyetech.com/Products/LcdScope/D ... rmware.pdf . After firmware is flashed and running pressing SEC/DIV + TRIGGER + ADJ simultaneously will allow you to enter activation code.

Please try disconnecting the negative power supply from load by cutting trace as shown in the attachment. Then check if you can get V-. If V- restores that means there might be short with in the load. If V- still fails replace C11 and C12 respectively to see if V- appears. If not try replace U5. V-_...

Yes this could be grounding related. Or maybe just because the pick-up was very small. You can increase the sensitivity and see.
