Re: Control FG085 from serial port
Another special command was added to place cursor to intended location (i.e. Freq, Amp, or Ofs). This command only takes effect when the generator is under CW mode. With this command remembering cursor position is not required. Updated document and firmware: DN085-12v03_HowToControlFG085ViaSerialPor...

Re: Control FG085 from serial port
There is a 300-byte FIFO reception buffer for the serial port. Incoming data are saved to the buffer by background subroutines. At foreground the microcontroller handles keypad, serial buffer, and display in turn in the main loop. At serial buffer handling, once started, it normally will process all...

Re: Distorted Output; Did I do something wrong?
1 ) If the kit was purchased from a distributor he/she might have stocks with older version firmwares. To upgrade firmware programmer is required because there is no bootloader installed due to limited space. 2 ) Usually there are larger noises for signals except sine because the low-pass filter was...

Re: Problem upgrading firmware
Just ignore the "Incorrect chip found" message and click Yes. It should report operation successful if there is no real problem. At connecting the programmer please connect it to USB first (LED D1 should light up). Then connect programming header to target and power target. LED D2 lights u...

Control FG085 from serial port
Dear folks, we recently received email from a customer asking for information about the rotary encoder. He was doing a project to control FG085 from an Arduino by emulating the keypad. Inspired by his project we modified the firmware to allow the instrument be controllable via the serial port. This ...

Re: CTRL and SQR lines, communication protocol U5/U6
Sorry for the late reply. Please see attachment for document of the DDS core interface. Hope it helps. The VCTRL1/VCTRL2 were provisions at design time for possible analog control over the DDS output, like VCO, amplitude modulation, etc. They were never implemented since space is tight. Even they di...
