Re: Li-ion power mod

Although this thread is almost dead, for the sake of completeness, in this thread you can find the instructions about how DSO138mini implements battery power.

Re: Li-ion power mod

...That kit doesn't have a battery charger circuit... In fact, it's prepared for battery operation (see 2nd "improvement" listed here and this picture ), although you need to add the JYE118 module (which includes the charger) as shown in the lower left part of the schematic . My previous ...

Re: Li-ion power mod

It is unpredictable and it will vary from unit to unit. Basically at around 7.5V, which could actually be 7.5V ±0.5V the +5V and the -5V regulators will stop regulating and then anything is possible. The problem is that at that point the scope will NOT just die but will stop functioning properly an...

Alternative firmware

Has anyone tried this alternative firmware? https://github.com/michar71/Open-DSO-150 It was already mentioned here in this forum, but that was almost a year ago, and it seems to be maintained by the author (last change was 21 days ago). There's no compiled version easily accessible in the github (wh...

Re: Li-ion power mod

...BUT, if you want to keep the barrel jack, I just saw something that I'd use. The socket got an unused contact that is closed when no connector is inserted and opens if you insert a plug. It breaks the ground connection (but that shouldn't matter). You could solder the GND output of the boost con...

Re: New v111 now in Firmwares. Another activation key?

... "genuinizing" counterfeit doesn't look correct for us. I'm sad for hearing that... as has been discussed in other threads (I think it was in DSO138's), most counterfeit's buyers are not doing it in bad faith so it's a pity they get the punishment for the counterfeiters' bad actions. O...

Re: How to verify the genuineness of your DSO Shell kit

...So the DSO 150 is a nice - and useful - toy. And learning tool. You can - for example - learn how to avoid the FW protection ;) On the other end also JYE still could get his share - what about to SELL the new firmware versions to the poor owners of the counterfeited devices ?... Great idea! I ho...

Re: New v111 now in Firmwares. Another activation key?

Hi, Jye! Happy new year! Have you considered the idea given by Zmail here , of selling the possibility to upgrade the FW to poor owners of counterfeited devices? I have two units, one is genuine (bought it from Gearbest), and the other one (from Aliexpress seller 100 percent store) is fake, as state...

Re: Missing Capacitor

According to the schematic , C1 is the capacitor that goes in series with the input when AC coupling is selected. Given that, according to the manual (pg 4) the maximum voltage allowed at the input is 50V, I guess 50V for this cap could be enough although, if you plan to use it frequently near this ...
