Yes indeed. The P-channel mosfet will normally be fully ON with the gate tied to ground, and with very little voltage drop. But when the power supply is plugged in, the gate goes high, which turns off the mosfet. You still have a diode in the other power path, but I don't think that's a problem.

LupinIII, how does your charger module handle running the scope while charging? Does it ever shut down charging while the scope is on? The one I have never shuts down because the current flow never goes low enough to trigger the shutdown. That could be a problem for the LIPO. The charger module not...
