Good point!
This information should be included in the user manual IMHO as it's very useful (and in fact essential in order to make the oscilloscope work)!
As there are obviously different types the manual should say how many mm the barrel should be.

Re: DC-jack improvement tip
Yes, the hole in the plastic bottom plate is too small (at least for my jack plug). At first I had a right-angled jack socket attached to my 9V DC-adapter, so I thought that could have been the problem, but after changing the plug to a straight type and the problems continued I found out that it jus...

DC-jack improvement tip
Ever since I assembled my DSO Shell I've been having problems with the 9V DC jack. If I was to ever so slightly move the 'scope around it would turn off and restart. I tried bending the metal parts inside the jack on the PCB to no avail, so I finally gave up and ordered a new, high quality jack sock...

Suggestion: different screen font (easier to read)
I have a suggestion for improving the DSO Shell: how about changing the Serif font on the display to a Sans Serif font? That would make the tiny fonts so much easier to read and would IMHO look better as well. https://thecyphersagency.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/serif-sansserif.jpg On a less...

Re: Getting a probe for the DSO Shell
Aha! Thanks for clearing that up.
That P6100 probe appears to be the one to go for then.

Something like this then?Petroid wrote:200MHz probe for 200kHz oscilloscope is overkill.
100MHz or even 50MHz probe is cheaper and you would not notice a difference with DSO Shell.
I can't see any mention of adjustment and high voltage though....

Re: Getting a probe for the DSO Shell
You mean a "passive" probe? I found several on eBay, with slightly different features: 1x, 10x adjustable 200MHz high impedance passive probes 60 MHz passive probes High voltage passive probe 1:1, 10:1 60MHz Do I need one which is adjustable, and I suppose any frequency range probe will be...

Getting a probe for the DSO Shell
I've assembled my DSO Shell and have it working (still trying to learn how to use it) but wonder why it didn't come with a probe (probably to keep costs down) and what kind of probe I should buy for it? I find the crocodile clips cumbersome for measuring different parts of a circuit, but I understan...

Re: Replacement for unreliable power socket?
I found several, but with different pin placements etc. As far as I remember, there's 3 pins on the one in the oscilloscope (the case in mine is closed so I can't check right now), but perhaps one pin has just been cut off (I can't find any such connectors with just 3 pins). Here's one by Cliff whic...

Re: Replacement for unreliable power socket?
Which brand/type is the 2.1mm power socket which JYEtech have used for this oscilloscope?
I'd like to replace it with a new socket but I haven't been able to find anything with the same pinout/placement.
