Re: Modification of software and hardware
I think Toshi's mods apply to a very early version of the Shell, both hardware and software. Some of the software changes have been encorporated. I think the current version doesn't need any mods unless you want to add a battery or internal USB adapter.

Re: Buy rotary encoder in the UK??
You need 15 pulses per revolution, and 30 detents per revolution. I believe it's this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/401475259389 It's on US Ebay, but the seller is UK. You might try to contact him. So far as I know, JYETech has never specified the part number for the encoder, or provided an Ebay or...

Re: Draft User Manual for DSO150
I'm not clear about the activation code. I know you need one when upgrading from any earlier version to version 110 or later. But I don't know if you need one if your Shell comes from Banggood with 110 or later already installed. It's possible you can tell you need one if you don't see a 4-character...

Re: I am at my wits end..
We don't have any information on version F. I guess it's even possible it's really version E with a silkscreen error. When you remove the boost converter pot, you'll see that the "top" of the pot is connected to V+, and "bottom" and the wiper are connected together and to the fix...

Re: I am at my wits end..
The analog board will have silkscreen saying "109-15001-00E" or "109-15001-00F". I think I used the same TP4056 charger and MT3608 boost converter that he used in the video, except that my charger has a microUSB connector. I replaced the pot on the converter with fixed resistors,...

Re: I am at my wits end..
I'm glad things turned out well for you. I'm curious what version your analog boards are. The last official mention was version E, but some have seen version F. If you think you might want to do the battery conversion mod at some point, you might read through that thread including the part about pos...
