Re: Zeroes

jye1 wrote:You are right. That was not true. Frequency has to be set to 0 to get DC signal.
Can you fix this? Setting zero amplitude should shut down the signal regardless of frequency.

Yes, the first video shows that it works correctly when amplitude and frequency update interval is 500ms.

It is not stable when the interval is 300ms:

Re: CTRL and SQR lines, communication protocol U5/U6

The VCTRL1/VCTRL2 were provisions at design time for possible analog control over the DDS output, like VCO, amplitude modulation, etc. This would be very interesting! Possibly another product - without servo control for example? A universal block for building a modular synthesizer, in which all mod...

Re: Zeroes

Found in the manual:
D.C. Only
The output of the FG085 can be set to a DC level by entering
amplitude of 0V. When the amplitude is set to zero the A.C.
waveform will be completely shut off and the FG085 may be used
as a DC voltage source.
It doesn't work as described. Signal is not shut off.

Zeroes

Even when amplitude and offset are set 0, there is output ~40 mV. Is it possible to fix it and get a better zero?
The output signal corresponds to the selected waveform and frequency.

Re: Control FG085 from serial port

The new commands that set current cursor position are very helpful, thank you very much! Everything works fine as can be seen on this short video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbYevaa57f0 The only problem is that control frames are sometimes ignored even though they are acknowledged by 'G' respons...

Using FFT

I consider buying an oscilloscope. Spectral analysis is important to me. That is why I have been using software oscilloscopes until now. Your manual tells very little about using FFT. Thus I have many questions: What is shown on the screen? I guess it's power spectral density? Is it averaged or inst...

Re: Control FG085 from serial port

I have ordered the FG085 just because it allows programmatic control. The How To Control document says: Because microcontrollers (or PC) could send button codes much faster than that from key pad it will cause button codes lost if FG085 can not handle quick enough. To prevent this from happening you...
